Rebecca was born and raised in Vermont and spent her summers working on organic farms, so healthy, locally produced food was a core part of her life from a young age.  She saw firsthand the benefits of increased knowledge of and access to healthy food, and as a result spent her undergraduate years at Sarah Lawrence College studying food history and justice.

After a few years in the food industry in New York City, Rebecca moved to Nagoya, Japan. She spent three years as an English teacher and school manager, then a final year as academic affairs administrator at the Nagoya University of Commerce & Business, where she was lucky enough to support students and professors from around the world. When not at work she traveled throughout the country, attended concerts, and explored Japan’s food traditions.

Itching to return to the food and sustainability world, she bid Japan goodbye in 2021, and is thrilled to step into the Whole Grain Stamp Manager position at Oldways. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys baking, listening to podcasts, and taking long walks in hope of coming across dogs to pet.
