Dr. Rob Myers is Regional Director of Extension Programs for the USDA-NIFA North Central Region Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program. He administers competitive grants and state funding for sustainable agriculture projects in 12 North Central states. He also holds an appointment as an adjunct faculty member in the Plant Sciences Division at University of Missouri where he is based. His professional expertise encompasses sustainable agriculture, crop diversification and conservation. He has conducted numerous research and education programs on alternative crops, including alternative grains and oilseed such as amaranth, buckwheat, millets, sunflowers, flax, and sesame, and also done significant work on cover crops. His Ph.D. in agronomy is from University of Minnesota, and he grew up on a family grain farm in central Illinois.
