Happy 4th of July everyone! I may not be decked out in red, white, and blue, but believe me, I’m ready for the long weekend! I adore everything about the holiday, from dinky town parades that remind me of my childhood, to the sound of fireworks going off from sundown to midnight. The best thing about the 4th is, of course, the food. I love nothing more than to gather with friends and family, hang out around the grill, and essentially eat everything in sight.

This year, my 4th of July celebration will actually take place on the 5th, which is fine by me because it gives me a chance to experiment with one of the WGC’s newest recipes – Brown Sugar Ice Cream, courtesy of our friend Chef Jennifer Iserloh. I offered to bring a dessert, and I love surprising people with delicious treats made with whole grains. This one seems perfect! Anyone else planning to try it? Or maybe you’ve made it already?
