Dear fellow Bostonians,

I know it’s raining — again! — and I know this return to monsoon weather has you feeling a bit down.  As I sit at my desk this morning with my soggy jean cuffs and my dripping umbrella, believe me when I say I feel your pain.  Having checked the weather and seen the dismal forecast gives us only one good day this weekend, I know that you, like me, are planning on getting as much outdoor sunshine that day as you possibly can.  I know you’ve seen that the rain returns with a vengeance Sunday and will possibly stick with us for the first few days of the work week.  But rather than spend your Sunday sulking on the couch, shaking angry fists at the heavy rain clouds, might I suggest an alternative?

Why not gather your good cheer and spend your Sunday cooking with Capone — no sillies, not Al Capone the infamous gangster!  I’m talking about Capone Foods, a Somerville and Cambridge staple for fresh pastas, sauces, and desserts.  This Sunday, July 26th at 3:00 PM, they’re hosting a Grains & Legumes cooking class, giving eager attendees the chance to learn tips and tricks for cooking lentils, fregola (a toasted “cousin” to couscous), risotto, and farro.  To top it off, appetizers and wine will served during the demonstration and at the end, you’ll sit down to enjoy the meal that’s been created.  Delicious!

For details and registration, head on over to Capone Foods via this link.  And remember, don’t let the rain keep you down!  (Kara)
